The Kapoor family gathered in Mumbai on May 13, 2025, to mark the Tehravi or 13th-day ceremony of late Nirmal Kapoor, mother of veteran actors Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, and producer Boney Kapoor. Nirmal Kapoor passed away on May 2 at the age of 90, and her demise has been a deeply emotional moment for the Kapoor clan.

The ceremony was held at Anil Kapoor’s residence, where close family and friends arrived to pay their respects and participate in the ritual that marks the end of the mourning period in many Hindu traditions.

The atmosphere was sombre, with members of the Kapoor family dressed in white as they gathered in memory of the matriarch.

Anil Kapoor, visibly affected by the loss of his mother, personally greeted guests with folded hands and a composed demeanor, showing both gratitude and strength during the emotional gathering.

His siblings, Sanjay Kapoor and Boney Kapoor, also stood by him and other family members, offering a united front during this time of grief.

Several members of the extended Kapoor family, including Nirmal Kapoor’s grandchildren Sonam Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, were seen arriving together.

Sonam Kapoor, who was very close to her grandmother, was seen alongside her husband Anand Ahuja, offering prayers and support to her grieving family. Arjun Kapoor, who has often spoken about the importance of family, stood alongside his siblings and cousins in honouring his late grandmother.

Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar and actress Shabana Azmi were also present at the ceremony. The couple arrived together and were seen offering heartfelt condolences to Anil Kapoor and the rest of the family. Their presence reflected the deep and long-standing bond shared between the Kapoors and Bollywood’s creative stalwarts.

Boney Kapoor, known for being a pillar of strength within the family, remained close to his daughters Janhvi and Khushi throughout the event, supporting them as they remembered their beloved grandmother.
