Modern Family actor Sofia Vergara has skipped the Emmys 2025 after facing last last-minute health scare on Sunday. The actress was scheduled to present an award at this year's ceremony.
Sofia took to her Instagram and shared a series of photos from the medical room reflecting her health emergency. She revealed that she was forced to skip the 2025 Emmy Awards after suffering from the "craziest eye allergy" just before heading out the door.
She wrote, “Didnt make it to the Emmys but made it to the ER. sorry I had to cancel! Craziest eye allergie right before getting in the car!”
The actress also shared several close-up photos of her swollen left eye, hinting at the seriousness of the issue.
The images and videos from the medical room featured the sctress sleeping in a hospital bed. She was seen washing her eye with water at a hospital sink in the other clips.
The actress was slated to join the presenters that included Elizabeth Banks, Angela Bassett, Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell, Sterling K. Brown, Jennifer Coolidge, Colman Domingo, Tina Fey, Mariska Hargitay, Jude Law, Sarah Paulson, Sydney Sweeney, Jesse Williams and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
However, Sofia is not the only one who skipped the ceremony. Actor Eric Dane, who has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), was also scheduled to present an award, but did not appear. He was expected to help celebrate the 20th anniversary of Grey’s Anatomy.

HBO Max's The Pitt and Apple TV+'s The Studio, which were named the Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Comedy Series, respectively, emerged as the big winners of the night.
Adolescence also earned the Limited/Anthology category, earning the main category and all the acting prizes.
Grammy-nominated comedian Nate Bargatze hosted the 2025 Emmys, which were held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 14.
