Mona Singh has time and again proven that she is one of Bollywood’s finest actors. Mona being Bollywood’s favourite “Jassi” got the biggest nod of approval at the preview premiere—and it came straight from Shah Rukh Khan. At the preview of Aryan Khan’s much-anticipated directorial debut The Ba**ds of Bollywood, SRK paused the usual formalities to heap praise on Mona Singh.
Srk said “Pehele main Mona ko ek baat bata doon, bohot saalo se kehta aaraha hoon isse ki mera favourite show tha Jassi usmein meri favourite cheez thi Mona and aaj bhi mujhe lagta hai Mona jaise koi nahi.”
That line pretty much set the tone. For years, Mona has quietly built a reputation as the actor who can slip between TV, OTT, and cinema without missing a beat. She elevates whatever she touches—sometimes without fanfare, often without the noise that other stars thrive on.
SRK, of course, couldn’t resist throwing in a cheeky aside. “Ek complaint hai. itni choti umar main yeh mummy wummy ka role kyu karte ho? Bohot accha karti ho. But kyu karte ho.”
Mona, never the type to stay quiet, fired back with a laugh, “Shah Rukh ab main kya bolu yaar. Aap Hero Jawaan banke baithe ho toh kisi na kisi ko mummy ka role karna padega na? How will I get younger roles?”

The audience broke into laughter, and SRK sealed the exchange with the kind of promise fans will hold him to, “Agli baar hum dono karenge saath mein.”
It was a small moment in a big night, but it captured something rare—industry respect that doesn’t sound rehearsed. For Mona Singh, who has been in the game long enough to know how fickle it can get, Shah Rukh’s words were both recognition and reassurance.
