Shah Rukh Khan films key jail sequence for King in Mumbai: Report

After the huge success of Jawan and Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan has started shooting for his next film, King.

The superstar has already jumped right into action scenes; according to reports, he started filming a suspenseful jail scene at Mumbai's famed Mehboob Studios earlier this week.

According to a report in Mid-Day, this particular sequence is set within a foreign prison, where Shah Rukh Khan’s character, the protagonist, engages in a fierce confrontation with a group of antagonists.

Director Siddharth Anand has specifically hired three international stunt experts to choreograph and design the intricate action because of the scene's critical importance to the story. The extent of the production was demonstrated by the extensive crowd portions of this scene that were filmed on June 15 and involved about 200 stunt performers.

In order to prepare for the physically demanding role, Shah Rukh Khan, who is reportedly playing a cunning assassin in this chic thriller, has been going through weeks of intense training.

Still buoyed by Pathaan's success, director Siddharth Anand is reportedly hoping for a more gritty and unvarnished portrayal of Shah Rukh Khan this time around, promising a change from some of his recent roles.

The film's dedication to high-octane scenes is further highlighted by the fact that the filmmakers have also enlisted the help of other international action directors to ensure the stunts are nothing short of spectacular and genuinely epic.

King is aiming for an October–December 2026 release window, which means eager fans will have to wait a long time.

The ambitious production schedule calls for more than 100 days of work in both domestic and foreign locations. The dynamic duo Sachin and Jigar are in charge of writing the film's songs, and Anirudh Ravichander, who is renowned for his stirring soundtracks, will be in charge of the background music.

This promises to be a potent aural experience that goes well with the dramatic visuals. King is undoubtedly generating a lot of anticipation thanks to its stellar lead, renowned director, and elite action and musical talent.
