Shah Rukh Khan expresses gratitude in a special video for winning his first ever National Award as Best Actor for Jawan

The Jawan actor also thanked his family for their love and support especially in recent times.

Shah Rukh Khan has finally secured his first National Award, a long-awaited recognition in his illustrious career of over three decades.

The iconic star, who has ruled Indian cinema for 33 years with unforgettable performances and unparalleled charisma, took to social media to express heartfelt gratitude after being honoured with the National Award for his role in the 2023 blockbuster Jawan, directed by Atlee.

Posting a thank-you video on his official social media platforms, Shah Rukh paired it with an emotional caption filled with his trademark warmth and humility, acknowledging the government, the jury, and his ever-loyal fans.

His caption read, "Thank you for honouring me with the National Award. Thanks to the jury, the I&B ministry… Iss samman ke liye Bharat Sarkar ka dhanyawaad. Overwhelmed with the love showered upon me. Half a hug to everyone today…"

In the video he said, "Needless to say I am overwhelmed with gratitude, pride and humility. To be honored with the national award is a moment I will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you so much to the jury and I and b ministry and to everyone who thought I was worthy of this honour."

He also thanked all his directors with whom he worked in 2023. "Thank you Raju sir, thank you Sid and specially to Atlee sir and his team for giving me the opportunity in Jawan and to trust me to be worthy of this award. Atlee sir this is like you say, 'Maaaaass'."

The actor then thanked his team, management and stylists for always keeping up with him and "making him look better", he stated in the video.

The Jawan actor also thanked his family for their love and support especially in recent times. "My wife and kids who over the last few years gave me so much more love and care ad if I am the kid in the house and want only the best for me. They know my obsession with cinema that takes me away from them but they all bear it with a smile and allow me the time. So thank you very much."

Further, Shah Rukh Khan highlighted the significance of cinema and shared that receiving the National Award serves as a powerful reminder for him to continue creating meaningful films. "It is a reminder that what I do matters. It tells me to keep going, keep working hard, keep creating and keep serving cinema."
