Samantha Ruth Prabhu has found herself in the spotlight once again after a Telangana minister made startling allegations regarding her divorce from Naga Chaitanya. The former couple issued statements addressing the claims, yet Naga Chaitanya drew criticism online for referring to Samantha as his "former spouse" rather than using her name.

Though neither has publicly reacted to the social media uproar, Samantha’s recent Instagram post is making waves.

The Yashoda actress shared a thought-provoking post on her Instagram Stories, stating, “You don’t have to do something huge to make a huge difference,” without adding a caption. This subtle yet powerful message has garnered significant attention.

The controversy stems from claims made by Telangana minister Konda Surekha, who alleged that KT Rama Rao (KTR) was involved in Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s separation.

According to Surekha, KTR demanded that Samantha be sent to him in exchange for sparing Nagarjuna’s N-Convention Centre from demolition. She further claimed that when Samantha refused, it led to her divorce. “KTR asked to send Samantha in return for not demolishing the N-convention centre. Nagarjuna forced Samantha to go to KTR, but she said no. That led to divorce,” Surekha was quoted as saying.

Samantha quickly responded to these allegations, issuing a strong statement on Instagram. “To be a woman, to come out and work, to survive in a glamorous industry where women are more often than not treated as props, to fall in love & to fall out of love, to still stand up and fight… It takes a lot of courage and strength,” she wrote, addressing the struggles she’s faced.

Speaking directly to Surekha, she added, “Konda Surekha Garu, I am proud of what this journey turned me into—please don’t trivialise it. I hope you realise that your words carry significant weight as a minister. I implore you to be responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy.”

Naga Chaitanya also responded to the allegations with a statement on social media, describing the divorce as "one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions" he’s ever had to make. He explained that the separation was a mutual decision made after a great deal of thought, based on their differing life goals.

Chaitanya emphasized that the rumors circulating about their divorce were baseless and harmful. “There have been various baseless and completely ridiculous gossips on the matter so far. I have remained silent all this while out of deep respect for my earlier spouse as well as my family,” he said, defending the privacy of both families involved.

Meanwhile, Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya’s father, confirmed that he has taken legal action against Konda Surekha. In an interview with Times Now, Nagarjuna revealed that they had filed a criminal defamation case and were preparing to file a Rs 100-crore lawsuit against the minister for her “outrageous comments.” He also criticized Surekha for apologizing only to Samantha and not to his family, stating, “What about my family? Not a word of apology to me and to my family!"
