Nine years after its initial release, Sanam Teri Kasam, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, is experiencing a remarkable resurgence at the box office. As the film enjoys its well-earned success, fans are buzzing with anticipation for its sequel.

Addressing the speculation, directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru recently shared insights on whether they are considering Salman Khan for the much-awaited follow-up.

In a recent interview with Filmygyan, directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru engaged with fans’ questions, one of which suggested casting Salman Khan in Sanam Teri Kasam 2. The duo enthusiastically welcomed the idea.

Radhika responded with excitement, saying, "Arey yaar, aapke munh mein ghee shakkar, but vo apni destiny ke maalik hain (May your words come true, but he is the master of his own destiny)". Meanwhile, Vinay Sapru, sitting beside her, chimed in with a candid appeal, "Please, aap hi unhe bata dijiye. Unhe ye clip tag karke sir ko bheja jaye. Salman sir, please okay boliye (Please, you inform him. Tag this clip and send it to sir. Salman sir, please say yes)."

Vinay Sapru further shared that Salman Khan has been a guiding force in their careers, referring to him as their "mentor." Expressing their enthusiasm, he stated that having Salman as a part of Sanam Teri Kasam 2 would be an absolute honor. In a heartfelt gesture, he even dedicated Sun Zara—a song from their film Lucky, which featured Salman Khan and Sneha Ullal—to the superstar, before adding, "Sanam Teri Kasam 2 with you, sir."

Meanwhile, Radhika Rao revealed that the much-awaited sequel to the romantic tragedy is expected to hit screens by 2026. Sapru also disclosed an interesting detail about the film’s storyline, revealing that the first and second parts were conceptualized together. He pointed out a crucial moment in Sanam Teri Kasam—the final scene where Inder walks toward the tree and speaks to it—as a subtle hint about the sequel’s existence from the very beginning.

The 2016 film, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, recently made a grand return to cinemas on February 7. The re-release has been met with an overwhelming response from audiences, amassing Rs 27.85 crore at the box office this week alone, proving the film’s lasting impact.
