The visit was part of her efforts to honour the brave soldier’s legacy ahead of the promotions for her upcoming film, Amaran, which revolves around the life of Major Varadarajan.

Actor Sai Pallavi recently paid a heartfelt tribute to Major Mukund Varadarajan by visiting the National War Memorial in New Delhi. The visit was part of her efforts to honour the brave soldier’s legacy ahead of the promotions for her upcoming film, Amaran, which revolves around the life of Major Varadarajan.

Major Varadarajan, laid down his life during an encounter in Kashmir in 2014.

Major Mukund Varadarajan, an officer in the Indian Army, was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra, India’s highest peacetime military decoration, for his bravery and sacrifice. His courage and dedication have inspired many, and Amaran seeks to bring his story to the forefront, allowing audiences to understand the life and valor of a soldier committed to protecting his nation.


By choosing to visit the National War Memorial, Sai Pallavi showcased her dedication to authentically portraying the role and paid her respects to the soldiers who have laid down their lives for the country.

During her visit, Sai Pallavi was accompanied by the film’s director, Rajkumar Periasami.

She shared images from the memorial, expressing her gratitude and reverence for the soldiers. In her social media caption, she emphasized her desire to honour the sacrifices of soldiers before starting the promotional activities for Amaran.

She described the memorial as a sacred place, a “temple” that immortalizes thousands of soldiers through brick-life tablets, commemorating their bravery and sacrifice.

The upcoming film Amaran features Sai Pallavi as Indhu Rebecca Varghese, the wife of Major Varadarajan, and stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role as Major Varadarajan himself. Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International in collaboration with Sony Pictures Films India, Amaran is set to release on October 31, just in time for Diwali. The film is highly anticipated, as it will release alongside other major films, including Dulquer Salmaan’s Lucky Baskhar and Jayam Ravi’s Brother, creating a competitive atmosphere for Diwali releases.

Sai Pallavi’s tribute resonated with her fans and followers, as it highlighted the emotional connection between the actor and the character she portrays. Her visit to the National War Memorial underscored the importance of acknowledging and appreciating the real-life heroes who continue to inspire countless lives.
