In the spirit of Valentine's season, where love takes center stage in all its diverse and beautiful forms, Bollywood power couple Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal have brought TAPS, an LGBTQ+ relationship drama, to YouTube. The short film, directed by Arvind Caulagi, is produced by National Award-winning filmmaker Sudhanshu Saria in collaboration with the KASHISH Film Festival and Lotus Visual Productions.

After garnering praise at esteemed film festivals, TAPS is now set to reach a global audience. Featuring debutant Ullas Samrat and Rohit Mehra, the film offers an intimate and heartfelt exploration of a couple finding their way back to each other.

For Richa and Ali, both passionate advocates for inclusivity and meaningful storytelling, presenting TAPS on a wider platform aligns with their commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices. The film, which earned the prestigious KASHISH QDrishti Film Grant, has been widely appreciated for its delicate yet impactful portrayal of LGBTQ+ relationships.

Richa Chadha said, "Cinema is powerful because it can shift perspectives. ‘TAPS’ is one of those stories that gently yet powerfully peels back the layers of identity, love, and self-acceptance. We’ve had so many conversations about representation in media, and to be able to support a film that does it right is a privilege. We want people to open their hearts a little more. Watch ‘TAPS’ with your partner, your friends, yourself—let it move you, let it stay with you."

Ali Fazal said, "Love has always been painted in broad strokes—roses, candlelight, grand gestures. But love is so much more than that. ‘TAPS’ captures something intimate, raw, and real. It reminds us that love isn’t just about who we love but how we love—with honesty, courage, and resilience. Richa and I felt strongly that a film like this deserved to be seen by as many people as possible. The fact that we can bring this story to the world—it feels just right."

In a world where love is still scrutinized, identity remains a subject of debate, and countless individuals continue their search for acceptance, TAPS serves as a gentle yet thought-provoking reminder of our ongoing struggle to embrace love in all its diverse forms. The film subtly challenges us to reflect on these societal barriers and question why inclusivity remains a distant goal.

With TAPS, we aim to ignite conversations, foster empathy, and emphasize that queer narratives are not separate from human stories. They are deeply intertwined with the universal experiences of longing, joy, heartbreak, and triumph—emotions that define all love stories. The more we normalize these perspectives, the closer we move toward a world where love is truly free.

TAPS is a project by Sudhanshu Saria’s Four Line Entertainment, created in collaboration with the KASHISH Arts Foundation and Lotus Visual Production. The film is both written and directed by Arvind Caulagi.
