
Sajjad Delafrooz is all set to make a strong impact in South Indian cinema as it is reported that he is going to be seen in a powerful role in Fauzi, starring Prabhas.
In this ambitious period drama, Sajjad plays the main villain and would be seen as a ruthless leader connected to the Nizam era. Though he was signed for the film nearly a year ago, he recently began shooting. Fauzi will mark his official debut in the South film industry and is expected to release later this year.
For the unversed, Sajjad Delafrooz is an Iranian actor who was raised in the UAE. Over the years, he has built a solid career in Hindi films, television and web series. Sajjad is widely known for playing intense and negative roles especially antagonists who leave a lasting impression on the audience.
He gained nationwide recognition with his role as Abu Usman in Tiger Zinda Hai where he starred opposite Salman Khan. His performance was so impactful that Salman Khan reportedly called him the “new Gabbar Singh of Bollywood.”
Apart from films, Sajjad also received critical acclaim for his role in the popular web series Special OPS where he played Hafiz Ali also known as Iqlakh Khan. He later appeared in films like Freddy, Heropanti 2 and Hukus Bukus.

In Fauzi, Sajjad is said to portray one of the most feared and cruel leaders of the Nizam period. The film is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. It is planned as a two-part story with the second part serving as a prequel.
The film is set against a fictionalised version of India’s colonial past. Prabhas’ first look from this film was released on his birthday, on October 23 of this year. This first look poster came with the tagline: A battalion who fights alone. This is scheduled for release in theatres in 2026 in all South Indian languages and Hindi.
