Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 gets postponed

Due to some unavoidable legal circumstances, the release of Akhanda 2 has been put on hold for an unknown amount of time. Akhanda 2, the highly anticipated Telugu sequel of Akhanda, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, has been put on hold indefinitely due of a number of legal and money concerns.

The movie was intended to come out today (December 5), but now it's stuck in limbo as people in the Telugu states start to worry.

Eros International is in a legal fight with 14 Reels Plus, but the producers haven't been explicit about what's going on.

This has made things even more confused, which has made theaters and fans much more anxious. It's even more odd because tickets for the movie are still available on major internet booking sites, even though it was canceled.

This makes people worry about refunds that are still being processed and about how confused the audience is.

14 Reels Plus Says the Delay Is Real

On Thursday, December 4, 14 Reels Plus made the delay official by posting on X that "unavoidable circumstances" were to blame.

The production firm also canceled paid premiere shows later that night, saying it was because of technical problems that they didn't expect: "The "#Akhanda2" premieres that were slated to happen today have been canceled because of technical issues. We have done everything we can, but some things are beyond our control. We are sorry for the inconvenience." People are really angry online about the last-minute cancellations.

Fans flocked to X to complain about the chaotic launch, and others pointed out that the movie is still on ticketing applications, which could confuse people and make it harder to get their money back. What happened to Akhanda 2? The delay is due to a huge legal issue. Recently, Eros International Media Limited moved the Madras High Court to prohibit the release of Akhanda 2.

CinemaExpress says that the prior arbitration verdict at the heart of the matter specifies that the producers must pay Eros roughly ₹28 crore plus 14% interest. Eros asserted that 14 Reels Plus LLP is basically the same thing as 14 Reels Entertainment.

They further argued that letting the movie come out without paying off the debts will let the promoters make money while not doing their jobs.

The court's decision means that the movie can't come out in cinemas, on digital platforms, or through satellite broadcasts until the debt is paid up.

What will happen next with Akhanda 2?

There is no updated release date for 14 Reels Plus yet. There is still no clear answer about what will happen with Akhanda 2 because legal activities are still going on and supporters are getting more and more upset.

The team has promised to offer a "positive update soon," but the movie's future is still uncertain until the money problem is solved. This has converted one of the most talked-about Telugu movies of the year into one of the biggest scandals.
