Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji is all set to reprise the role of a tough police officer in the third part of her hit film Mardaani.
Rani Mukerji will soon start shooting for Mardaani 3, the announcement for which was made in 2024.
According to reports in Mid-Day, the actress will be starting the shoot from June this year as the makers are currently in the process of finalizing the pre-production work.
A few look tests for some vital characters are also on right now, and the main villain is yet to be finalized as well.
According to the report, the Yash Raj Films team is doing the pre-production work, and its screenplay is also being fine-tuned.
Auditions are currently underway to get the best talent on board the film and also look for a strong villain against Rani.
The report further says that the production team has also decided on some shooting locations to begin with.
Some parts of the movie will be shot in Mumbai and Delhi, but there are a few other locations across north India that are yet to be finalized.
Rani Mukerji had announced the third installment of her hit film in 2024. At that time she said, "When we set out to make Mardaani 3, we were hoping that we would find a script that would take the experience of watching a Mardaani franchise film higher. I am really excited about what we have at hand, and I’m only hoping that the audience too feels the same after watching Mardaani 3 in theaters."
Mardaani 3 will be directed by debutante Abhiraj Minawala, who is a YRF talent. He was spotted by Aditya Chopra, and since then he has worked as AD on films like Band Baaja Baarat, Gunday, Sultan, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Tiger 3. Abhiraj is currently the Associate Director of 'War 2.'.
