Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda, known for hit tracks like Kangani and Chakvi Mandeer, died in a tragic motorcycle accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, on September 27, 2025. The 33-year-old was riding a BMW R1250 GS Adventure, a high-end motorbike worth around Rs 31 lakh, when the accident occurred.

Just a month earlier, in August, Jawanda had purchased a new BMW R1300 GS Adventure and shared his joy with fans online, calling it a dream come true. His love for bikes was well known among his followers, often reflected in his social media posts and music videos.

The accident has sent shockwaves across the Punjabi music industry and among his millions of fans. A video of Jawanda with his prized bike has gone viral since the news broke, adding to the emotional outpouring online. His funeral is scheduled for October 9 in his native village, Pona, located in the Jagraon area of Ludhiana district, Punjab.

Fans and colleagues have filled social media with tributes, prayers, and frustration over poor road safety in India. One user on X wrote, “He bought a BMW bike worth Rs 31 lakh and was so happy about it. But safety on Indian roads is zero. It doesn’t matter how expensive your vehicle is — you’re still unsafe. RIP brother.”

Many echoed similar concerns, highlighting that India continues to see rising road fatalities despite owning safer vehicles. “No matter how many deaths happen, there’s no accountability. Roads remain unsafe, and enforcement is nonexistent,” another user commented.

The tragedy has reignited anger over India’s road infrastructure, particularly in Himachal and Punjab. A user tagged the National Highways Authority of India, posting, “Why is no one talking about the Pinjore-Nalagarh highway? It’s murder by negligence.”

Jawanda’s death has left a deep void in Punjabi music. Known for his vibrant stage presence and heartfelt lyrics, he had carved a strong identity in both folk and modern Punjabi music. As tributes continue to pour in from fans and fellow artists, the incident serves as a grim reminder that even success and passion can be cut short by unsafe roads.
