Prakash Jha's political-drama film Rajneeti completed 15 years since its release in 2009 today on June 4. As the film marks a remarkable milestone, Prakash Jha spilled beans on the possibility of Rajneeti's sequel.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Prakash Jha confirmed that Rajneeti 2's sequel is in progress. “Raajneeti ki yatra toh anvarat hai, chalti hi rehti hai! (Politics' journey is constant and it keeps going forward). There’s always been a plan for Raajneeti 2. While there is nothing concrete in terms of casting and shooting yet, I am currently working on it."
The political drama, which left a lasting impact with its gripping storyline and powerful performances, has continued to enjoy a loyal following over the years. News of a second installment has sparked a wave of excitement on social media, with fans eagerly speculating about the plot and cast.
Further recalling the making of Rajneeti starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina in lead roles, he said, "The good thing about casting was that whoever we approached, liked the script and came on board. They felt challenged to perform well. People say it was a commercial success."
The film starred a huge ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee, Nana Patekar and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles.

Rajneeti revolves around the plot Samar, the son of a political family, has chosen to go to the USA to live with his girlfriend. However, the death of his father makes him put his plans on hold and enter the dirty world of politics. Teh film proved to be a box office hit as it earned over Rs 140 crores.
