South superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran is gearing up for his highly anticipated Malayalam feature film, Khalifa. Fans have been eagerly awaiting his next project, and he has created a buzz by dropping an exciting update.

Prithviraj took to his Instagram and shared a photo of the clapboard, teasing the beginning of the production. The clapboard featured the film’s name with the scenes and shot numbers. However, he kept further details under wraps.

The film’s production banner, Jiinu Abraham Innovation, has also teased the production of the upcoming film. The production house has announced that the movie will kick off its first shooting schedule in London on August 6.

Sharing the picture of the same clapboard, they penned in the caption, “Khalifa' Begins Its Journey! #Khalifa has officially kickstarted with an Auspicious Pooja and Switch-On ceremony. With blessings and excitement in the air, the team is all set to begin filming soon.”

The caption continued, “The first shooting schedule to commence on August 6th in London.. Stay tuned for more exciting updates straight from the sets!”

The upcoming film is directed by Vysakh, who is known for directing Malayalam films such as Pokkiri Raja, Mallu Singh, Pulimurugan and Monster. The film will have music composed by Jakes Bejoy. Jomon T John will serve as the cinematographer.

Besides Khalifa, Prithviraj Sukumaran will next be seen in Sarzameen. He will star alongside Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan. The film will release on JioHotstar on July 25.
