  • Meghna Gulzar's Daayra will not feature songs by Gulzar.
  • Daayra stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
  • The film is set for release in 2026.

Meghna Gulzar, a filmmaker, is coming back with her next movie, Daayra, which stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles. People are already interested in the project, not just because of the cast but also because of a big change in the way it is being made.

For the first time in her career, Meghna's movie won't have any songs by her famous father, Gulzar. This is a big change from her last six movies, all of which had songs written by him. Gulzar recently said that Daayra will not have any songs in it. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he said this is because the script doesn't naturally allow for musical breaks. He said that Meghna thought adding songs would break up the story's flow, so she decided to stick with the tone of the story.

Meghna Gulzar has made a number of movies before, including Filhaal (2002), Just Married (2007), Talvar (2015), Raazi (2018), Chhapaak (2020), and Sam Bahadur (2023). She works with Junglee Pictures again on Daayra, which is the third time after Talvar and Raazi. The crime drama that is coming out soon is expected to be very interesting. It will come out in 2026.

Gulzar also said that he has been working on a kids' movie called Masab Tank. The experienced lyricist said that this project is very important to him because it shows how the playgrounds in Hyderabad's Masab Tank area are getting smaller. He stressed that writing for children's movies is not just a choice, but a duty, and that these movies are often not given the attention they deserve.

Gulzar also had nice things to say about Vishal Bhardwaj, who has worked with him for a long time. He hopes that Bhardwaj will keep making movies that are important to young people, like The Blue Umbrella (2007). They have worked together on a number of memorable projects in the past, such as the well-known song "Jungle Jungle Baat Chali Hai" from the TV show The Jungle Book.
