In a heartfelt gesture, Preity Zinta donated over Rs 1 crore to the towards the welfare of Army widows and their children. This generous gesture came shortly after India’s valiant Operation Sindoor, a mission that followed the tragic Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.
Preity Zinta expressed her sincere appreciation and gratitude for the Indian Armed Forces at a poignant event on Saturday in Jaipur, which was attended by the Army Commander of the South Western Command, the Regional President of Shapta Shakti AWWA, and many Army families.
According to an official statement, Preity donated a total of Rs 1.10 crore to the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) of the South Western Command.
According to the statement, "It is a responsibility to give back to the brave families of our armed forces. The sacrifices made by our soldiers can never truly be repaid, but we can stand by their families and support their journey forward."
Her Indian Premier League (IPL) team, the Punjab Kings, made the donation as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
During the event, she said, “It is both an honour and a responsibility to provide assistance to the brave families of our armed forces. The sacrifices made by our soldiers can never truly be repaid. However, we can stand by their families and support them in moving forward."
According to a PTI release, the contribution from Preity Zinta’s share of Punjab Kings' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund is dedicated to empowering Veer Naris (war widows) and supporting the education of their children.
