Nikka Zaildar 4 release postponed to October 2 amid Punjab flood crisis

The release of the much-awaited Punjabi film Nikka Zaildar 4, starring Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa, has been officially postponed to October 2 due to the devastating flood situation in Punjab. The film, directed by Simerjit Singh, was initially scheduled to hit theatres on September 12 but will now arrive later, as the team expressed solidarity with flood-affected communities.

Punjab has been reeling under severe floods triggered by swollen rivers Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi, along with overflowing rivulets caused by heavy rainfall in the catchment areas of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Several towns and villages remain submerged, with residents struggling to rebuild their lives. In such a humanitarian crisis, the film’s cast and crew felt it was inappropriate to go ahead with the release.

Sonam Bajwa shared the announcement through her Instagram account on Sunday, confirming the revised release date. In the statement, the makers emphasized that the delay is more than just a scheduling change—it reflects their sense of responsibility toward the people of Punjab.

“The entire team of Nikka Zaildar 4 has decided to postpone the release date of the film to 2nd October, due to an unforeseen severe flood situation in several areas of Punjab. We feel it’s our responsibility to stand with the people of Punjab during these tough times,” the note read. The team also revealed that they will personally visit flood-affected regions, carrying trucks filled with ration and other essential supplies. “We stand with Punjab,” it added.

Bajwa, who captioned the post with words of compassion for the flood victims, reassured fans that the delay was a small sacrifice compared to the pressing needs of affected families. Her co-star Ammy Virk has also been actively using his platform to raise awareness about relief efforts.

Alongside Virk and Bajwa, the film also stars veteran actress Nirmal Rishi and Parminder Gill in pivotal roles. Directed by Simerjit Singh, the fourth installment of the Nikka Zaildar franchise promises to continue the much-loved blend of comedy, drama, and romance.

Meanwhile, Sonam Bajwa is also set to appear in Baaghi 4 alongside Tiger Shroff, releasing on September 5. The film additionally features Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu in a key role.
