A day after Nayanthara was asked by Madras court to reply to the civil lawsuit filed by actor and producer Dhanush, the Ghajni actress has finally sent a reply.
Dhanush has filed a civil suit against actor Nayanthara, her husband, and director Vignesh Shivan and their company, Rowdy Pictures Private Limited.
Dhanush has objected to the use of behind-the-scenes footage from his film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale.
Nayanthara’s lawyer has finally responded, and in their reply, he has said that their clients have 'not violated any copyright laws.'
Rahul Dhawan, Nayanthara's counsel, said that the footage used in the documentary was a part of the actress' 'personal library' and did not belong to Dhanush’s production house, Wunderbar Films Private Limited.
Rahul told HT, “Our response is that there is no infringement or violation because what has been utilized by us in the documentary series is not part of behind-the-scenes (from the film). The same is part of the personal library; therefore, this is not an infringement."

Raghul further said that they formally submitted their response to Dhanush’s legal notice. The next hearing of the case in Madras High Court is expected to happen on Monday, December 2.
For the uninitiated, Nayanthara wrote an open letter to Dhanush after she was sent a notice of Rs 10 crore for using some footage of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.

In her open letter, she claimed that Dhanush had refused to give an NOC to use footage and audio from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the documentary. Hence they decided to let go of the footage and had to reedit the film.
Nayanthara further mentioned that Dhanush sent them a legal notice demanding Rs 10 crore for using a 3-second clip that was recorded on the set of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.
Her husband and director Vignesh Shivan shared the same clip on his social media and wrote, “The 10 crores clip that wants to be taken down from our Netflix documentary. Please watch it here for free.”
Dhanush and Nayanthara's feud seems to have been ignited further. We will have to wait for the next hearing of the case on December 2.
