Melanie Martinez kicks off first ever arena tour today, has a sold out first show

Singer Melanie Martinez kickstarted her ‘The Trilogy Tour’ on Saturday, 10 May. The fans were highly awaiting this tour since months.

The ‘Dollhouse’ singer announced the commencement of ‘The Trilogy Tour’ last year. This tour is special because her previous albums, ‘Crybaby’ and ‘K12’ will also be featured on it. The setlist will include songs from all three of her eras, the most recent one being ‘Portals’.

The ‘Void’ singer posted a picture of the tour dates on her Instagram handle. The poster included a beautiful illustration of two Melanies. One was from her 2nd album, ‘K12’. The sketch saw the ‘K12’ character in her pink and white school costume. The other character was from her third album, ‘Portals’. The creature is pink skinned and four eyed. The two characters are seen lying with their eyes closed in a pool of water. There are pink tentacles coming from the water that are connecting the two to each other. This could be a metaphor for so many things, especially life and death.

Melanie Martinez has always shared that her music stems from a very spiritual place. Even her song topics include subjects like afterlife, death, immortality, etc.

“The cycle of life – from the beginning of crybaby’s story to the end ️,” Martinez wrote on Instagram. “The trilogy tour!! Your favourite songs from all three albums in one show … This tour is going to be so special.”

The first show of ‘The Trilogy Tour’ is taking place at the Climate Pledge Area in Seattle. It is a sold out show.  Men I Trust, Beach Bunny and Sofia Isella are set to be the special guests on the tour.

The lounge experience of the first show has a memorabilia room and it is equivalent to heaven for any Martinez fan. The waiting room has on display many costumes from several of her eras and it also has a lot of sweets and treats that relate to the singer’s aesthetic.

The singer has revealed in the past that she has always looked at the ‘Crybaby’ era as a trilogy so with three albums released and a tour celebrating the trilogy, fans are eager to know what the artist has in mind next.
