Lana Del Rey and Quavo are fully embracing a flirty, nostalgic vibe in their sun-drenched music video for their latest track, “Tough.” After weeks of building anticipation, the dynamic duo unveiled the song on Wednesday morning.

“Tough” opens with a distinctive twang from the guitar strings, setting the stage for Del Rey’s initial verse. Quavo’s entry at the one-minute mark brings in the signature trap beats, blending seamlessly with his lyrics, “Come on, take a ride with me / Like the 808s beatin’ in the trunk in Atlanta, it was tough.” The song is very reminiscent of Lana Del Rey’s “Lust for Life” era with songs like “Summer Bummer” featuring iconic rapper Asap Rocky.

Initially rumoured to be part of Del Rey’s forthcoming country album, “Lasso,” announced earlier this year, “Tough” is currently available only on Quavo’s YouTube channel. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter’s transition to a country-infused sound adds a fresh dimension to her music, while Quavo’s collaboration highlights the versatility of both artists.
