The full verdict from HYBE and Min Hee Jin’s trial is sparking strong reactions from both legal experts and the public.

On June 3, the detailed verdict from Min Hee Jin’s court battle against HYBE was released, generating widespread interest and discussion. The Seoul Central District Court’s 20-page verdict made it unequivocally clear that HYBE was in the wrong. In a resounding decision, the judge dismissed all of HYBE’s allegations against Min Hee Jin, favouring her stance completely.

A legal expert commented on the case, noting the unusual clarity and decisiveness of the court’s ruling. “This verdict overwhelmingly rules against HYBE. To be honest, that is why Min Hee Jin stated that none of HYBE’s claims were accepted in court. She said that none of HYBE’s reasons to fire her were accepted in the courts, and she is basically right. In fact, the court rarely writes a verdict this unfavourable. For example, the language in the verdict is very explicit and clear, which usually isn’t the case. I think HYBE may have been shocked by this,” Koreaboo quoted a lawyer analysing the case.

Netizens have also been vocal about their reactions to the verdict. Many expressed surprise and incredulity at the fact that virtually none of HYBE’s claims were upheld in court. Comments flooded social media, reflecting a mixture of astonishment and humour at HYBE’s position.

“Why did HYBE sue her? LOL. This looks as bad as a shocking divorce trial,” wrote a netizen. “It’s shocking that HYBE tried to kill the CEO and group in the media,” commented another.

“Seriously, why did they sue Min Hee Jin?” remarked a K-pop fan. “Not accepted, not accepted, not accepted, no evidence, LOL,” wrote
another.

“At this point, did HYBE sue for the sake of it? Or did someone force them to?” noted a user. “I can’t believe they did all that media play despite not having anything,” shared another.

“Despite getting beaten this badly, they still haven’t gotten their act together. Those old men should just go out and die,” commented a
netizen. “If you’re going to lose this bad, why did you sue? LOL. F*cking hilarious,” said another.

Min Hee Jin, formerly a creative director at SM Entertainment before joining HYBE, had been embroiled in the legal battle over alleged
wrongful termination and defamation. The court's decision not only clears her name but also raises significant questions about HYBE’s motives and strategies in the lawsuit.

The backlash against HYBE following the verdict indicates a serious hit to their public image. The case's high-profile nature and the unequivocal defeat in court have left many wondering about the internal decision-making processes at HYBE and the potential fallout from this legal debacle.
