Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s film Thamma has continued its strong run at the box office since its release on October 21. The film held steady even on its 12th day in theatres.
As per trade reports, Thamma collected Rs 3 crore on its second Friday and Rs 4.6 crore on its second Saturday, bringing its domestic total to Rs 115.9 crore. With this impressive figure, the film has surpassed the lifetime earnings of Maddock Films’ horror-comedy Munjya, which made Rs 101.6 crore.
This success comes despite facing tough competition from Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which released on the same day, and SS Rajamouli’s re-released epic Baahubali: The Epic, which opened with a massive Rs 10.34 crore — the highest for any re-release in India.
On Saturday, November 1, Thamma recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 22.94% across theatres. The film’s audience turnout grew steadily through the day — starting at 9.00% in the morning, rising to 21.21% in the afternoon, 27.52% in the evening, and peaking at 34.02% during the night shows.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Maddock Films, Thamma features a strong ensemble cast including Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal, and Varun Dhawan.
In an interview with Moneycontrol, Ayushmann shared his thoughts on balancing substance with success at the box office.

He said, “I always want to mix content with numbers, that’s always been my endeavour. I want to do films with a unique clatter-breaking and thankfully, Thamma has given that experience to people, which is uniquely its own way, though it’s part of Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. But it still offers something new, a new character, original film is Thamma, and I’m excited for the forthcoming films of the universe.”
Ayushmann will next be seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, co-starring Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Wamiqa Gabbi.
