Singer and songwriter Taylor Swift is a superhero in a lot of people’s lives but is she going to literally don a mask and cape for a Marvel movie?
Reportedly, the ‘Wildest Dreams’ singer met with the head of Marvel studios Kevin Fiege which blew up the rumour train even further. Speculations have been going on for months but no involved parties have confirmed or denied the rumour as of yet.
Reportedly, makers are developing a Blonde Phantom series and they are considering Swift to join the cast as the title character. The show will seemingly be set in the 1950s.
The comic revolved around Louise Grant, a secretary to a detective in the daytime and a crime fighting superhero at night.
Swift, currently on her super successful world tour ‘The Eras Tour’, has been previously linked to the upcoming MCU project starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’. Sources said that the singer was being eyed to play Dazzler.
Insider Daniel Richtman stated that Taylor Swift recently had a "productive discussion with Kevin Feige, and they are discussing a role in the MCU.”
Rumours were fuelled when fans noticed that the location of the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ trailer was the same location as Taylor Swift’s 10 minute long hit song ‘All Too Well’.
The singer was also seen with ‘The Pink Panther’ director Shawn Levy, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman at a Kansas City Chiefs game. This interaction intensified the speculations even further.
Levy when asked about Swift’s involvement, said, “I’m going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.”
While fans are longing to see Swift play the role of Dazzler, the recent meeting doesn’t necessarily confirm this. The two might be cooking up something completely else.
Seemingly, Swift wants to take a character that is different and goes beyond the expectations of fans.
‘Deadpool’ actor Ryan Reynolds spoke to Screen Rant about the Taylor Swift ‘Deadpool’ rumours, “Anything can happen and that’s sort of what I love about this universe. Surprises are the essence of Deadpool.”
The actor also revealed that he has seen fan theories about Elvis Presley, who passed away in 1977, having a cameo in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’.
