Filmmaker Mohit Suri, who is known for directing the romantic hit Aashiqui 2, is gearing up for his highly anticipated film, Saiyaara. The teaser of the film is reminding fans of Aashiqui, with several asking him if he would return to direct Aashiqui 3.

During a recent interview with Filmygyan, Mohit has recently answered the most-asked question. The filmmaker has revealed that he was never approached to direct the third instalment of the franchise.

Mohit Suri said, “I think you need to ask the producers. They don’t want to employ me.” However, he expressed that he would love to make a film with the same lead if he finds a good script. He also noted that he has to live up to the emotional impact and success of the Aashiqui 2 while also handling the creative pressure.

He added, “I would love to make a film with this lead, but I have to find a good script. 'Aashiqui' ka burden mere sir pe gir raha hai (The burden of 'Aashiqui' has fallen on my shoulders), I need to find a script that is better than it. It is difficult.”

For the unversed, Aashiqui 2 was released in 2013, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead. The film instantly became a blockbuster success at the box office, with its songs still mesmerising the fans.

However, Mohit has again introduced a new pair, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, in the upcoming 'Saiyaara'. The film is produced by Yash Raj Films and revolves around the dramatic love story of Krish, an aspiring singer, played by Ahaan and a passionate songwriter, Aneet.
