Mohit Malik joins Mirzapur

Mohit Malik, a well-loved face on Indian television, is stepping into a new chapter of his career — one that blends bold choices with a willingness to explore uncharted territory.

Having spent over a decade entertaining audiences across genres, from daily soaps to musical dramas and thrillers, Mohit is now taking on two strikingly different projects that reflect his evolving artistic journey.

The actor, known for standout roles in shows like Doli Armaano Ki and Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala, is all set to make his presence felt on the big screen with Mirzapur The Film — the highly anticipated cinematic version of the popular web series.

Mohit’s inclusion in the cast has already generated buzz, especially after he shared a personal note sent by producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar welcoming him to the team. “Excited to join the world of Mirzapur! Thank you to the team and producers for this warm welcome onboard. Grateful and looking forward to this journey,” he shared on social media, giving fans a glimpse into the warmth behind the scenes. While details about his role are still under wraps, the excitement around his casting says plenty.

At the same time, Mohit is returning to television in a completely different avatar — that of Lord Shiva in Ganesh Kartikey, an upcoming mythological series on Sony TV.

Produced by Peninsula Pictures, the show will delve into the stories of Lord Ganesha and Kartikeya, highlighting their relationship with Shiva and Parvati. Mohit will be seen alongside Shrenu Parikh, who plays Parvati. A short teaser has already been released, giving viewers a first look at this divine tale and the show's rich, traditional setting.

The duality of these roles — one rooted in the raw, crime-ridden world of Mirzapur, and the other in the serene spiritual realm of ancient mythology — is a testament to Mohit’s versatility and appetite for creative risk. For him, it’s not about choosing between film or television, but about growing as an actor through stories that challenge and inspire him.

As Mirzapur The Film gears up for production and Ganesh Kartikey nears its television debut, Mohit Malik is clearly carving a path that honours his past while embracing a future full of possibility.
