Mohan Babu hospitalised after physical altercation with journalist over feud with son Manchu Manoj, case filed against the veteran actor

Mohan Babu and Manchu Manoj are engaged in family feud.

Veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu has been hospitalised after his altercation with a journalist on Tuesday night. A case was filed against Mohan Babu by the reporter alleging that the actor grabbed his mic and hit him with it on cam.

Just day before yesterday, Manchu Manoj, who is the son of Mohan Babu, was seen leaving the hospital with a neck brace. Yesterday he tried to entered his family residence forcefully in order to meet his daughter.

Many videos have gone viral from the physical altercation that happened on Tuesday evening. After the altercation with the reporter, Mohan Babu was hospitalised.

A health bulletin was released by the Continental Hospitals in Hyderabad and it read that the actor was brought in emergency.

“Noted film personality and former member of the Rajya Sabha Dr Manchu Mohan Babu was brought into the Emergency Department of Continental Hospitals, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, at 8:30 pm on 10th December 2024 with complaints of diffuse body pains, anxiety and history of loss of consciousness.”

The bulletin further reads: “He was given immediate and necessary medical care by the specialists in the Emergency Department, and following a thorough examination, he was found to be having a blunt injury below the left eye and was found with high blood pressure, increased heart rate, and excessive heart rate fluctuations.”

Mohan Babu is currently under observation at the hospital.

What is the family feud 

The family feud between Mohan Babu and his son Manchu Manoj came in the public eye when the veteran actor lodged a police complaint against his son alleging that Manoj and his wife Bhuma Mounika ‘orchestrated’ to take possession of his home.

Mohan Babu also released an audio saying that his younger son was an alcoholic. Manoj also asked for police protection after he was allegedly beaten up.

Talking about the events on Tuesday, according to eyewitnesses, Manoj forced open the gates of hisd father's house in Jalpally, claiming that his daughter was inside the house.

Many journalists were also present at the time of the incident. A few minutes later, the security personnel pushed Manoj out. However, things got out of hand when Mohan Babu allegedly attacked a journalist.

According to the police FIR shown by news agency ANI, the complainant said that it was Manoj who had invited him along with other journalists to cover the incident in his house.

The assault reportedly left the journo bleeding and he has got a head injury. The journalist has filed a complaint against Mohan Babu at the Pahadi Shareef police station.

As per reports in PTI, he received medical treatment at Trident Hospital in Shamshabad.

The Case filed against Mohan Babu 

A case was registered against Mohan Babu for allegedly assaulting a video journalist, police said on Wednesday.

In his complaint, the journalist stated that when he visited Mohan Babu's Jalpally residence on December 10 to cover the ongoing "dispute" between the actor and his younger son Manoj, the senior actor confronted him and other journalists aggressively.

He allegedly grabbed the microphone, used "abusive and foul language," and attacked him with it, causing a head injury.

Based on the complaint filed by the 35-year-old journalist, the case was registered under Section 118 (1) (voluntarily causing hurt using dangerous weapons or substances) of the BNS at the Pahadishareef police station, a police official said.
