Kriti Sanon reunites with Shahid Kapoor for Cocktail 2

Kriti Sanon and Shahid Kapoor are set to reunite onscreen after the success of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. 13 years after Cocktail that starred Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan and Diana Penty, Dinesh Vijan is set to produce Cocktail 2, featuring a fresh star cast. According to Pinkvilla, the sequel will star Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in leading roles, continuing the love triangle theme.

The casting for the third key role in the love triangle is currently underway. The report quoted a source, “After the success of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon are reuniting for Cocktail 2. Both actors were impressed with the script and are excited to explore the world of this romantic comedy. Producer Dinesh Vijan is passionate about the rom-com genre and believes Cocktail 2 has the potential to bring romantic comedies back into vogue.”

While Cocktail was written by Imtiaz Ali, for Cocktail 2 Dinesh joins hands with Luv Ranjan. The source added, “Cocktail 2 is penned by Luv Ranjan, who will also be deeply involved in the creative process as a partner on the film. The script is brimming with humor and light-hearted moments, with friendship as its core theme. Luv Ranjan is known for his expertise in this genre, making the collaboration between Luv and Dinoo an exciting prospect. The entire team is enthusiastic about the film, which promises to be a wholesome entertainer starring two of the most beloved actors of this generation, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.”

Homi Adajania will return to direct Cocktail 2, with the film slated to begin production in May 2025. In addition to the leading pair, the film is expected to feature a large ensemble cast, and casting is currently in progress.

Shahid Kapoor will transition to Cocktail 2 after wrapping up Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustara / Evil. Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon will complete her work on Aanand L Rai’s Tere Ishk Mein before diving into Cocktail 2.
