A new wave of excitement has swept through India’s K-pop fandom as reports suggest that JYP Entertainment—home to powerhouse groups Stray Kids and Twice—is gearing up to establish an office in the country. Following BTS’ HYBE and G-Dragon’s agency Galaxy Corporation, JYP appears poised to become the latest Korean entertainment giant to tap into India’s rapidly expanding music market.

According to The Korea Herald, the agency is currently preparing for its India push, though details remain under wraps.

An industry source told the publication, “JYP Entertainment is preparing to open its office in India to target the local music market. The exact location or timeline has not been decided, but the timing seems right as K-pop’s popularity continues to rise among younger generations in India."

Galaxy Corp., too, is reportedly exploring its entry into India but has yet to release an official statement. This positions JYP to become the second major K-pop label to expand into the country, following HYBE’s Mumbai launch in September.

JYP’s potential move comes as part of its long-term strategy to build regional hubs across Asia, at a time when Korean content consumption in India is exploding. Streaming numbers for K-pop have soared year after year, making India one of the fastest-growing markets for Korean music, drama, and pop culture.

The company currently runs international branches in the United States, Japan, and China. An India office would mark its fourth overseas expansion—and one that industry experts say could have a transformative impact.

Analysts believe the move could intensify local promotions, strengthen fan engagement, and open the door to collaboration between Indian musicians and globally renowned K-pop producers.

HYBE, which became the first Korean entertainment company to officially enter India in September, has already begun laying the groundwork for deeper cultural exchanges with the country. India's position as a crucial market in the global K-pop ecosystem is stronger than ever, with JYP now anticipated to follow.
