Following the disturbing death threats received by Bollywood celebrities Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Remo D'Souza, and Sugandha Mishra from Pakistan, the Mumbai police have decided to enhance security for these stars. The threats, sent via emails under the name ‘Bishnu,’ warned of harm to the celebrities, primarily targeting Sharma due to his association with the Comedy Nights with Kapil show and its sponsorship by Salman Khan. These alarming threats led to immediate action from the authorities.
The death threats were first reported by Rajpal Yadav, who received an email warning about harm to Kapil Sharma and his team. Rajpal's wife, Radha Rajpal Yadav, filed a police complaint at Amboli Police Station in Mumbai, which led to the registration of a case under Section 351(3) of the Indian Penal Code, dealing with threats of harm. As the investigation progressed, the police traced the IP address to Pakistan and have since sought assistance from the Indian government to cooperate with Pakistani authorities.
In response to the severity of the situation, the Mumbai police have now decided to provide additional security to the celebrities involved. This includes enhanced personal protection for Kapil Sharma and his team, with patrolling near their residences and workspaces to ensure their safety. The authorities are taking this threat seriously, not only due to the high-profile nature of the individuals involved but also because of the cross-border origin of the threat.
The move to boost security comes as the entertainment industry grapples with the growing issue of online threats and cybercrime. While the police continue to investigate, the safety of these popular figures remains a top priority. Fans and the public have shown concern for their well-being, expressing hope that the matter will be resolved swiftly.
