Kannada actor Chethan Chandra was brutally attacked by a group of 20 people on Sunday (May 12) in Bengaluru. The actor was on his way home after visiting a temple when he was attacked.
Chethan went live on his Instagram account after the brutal attack and informed fans about what had happened to him. He said that miscreants damaged his car and smashed its windshield as well.
In the video, he said that an unknown, seemingly inebriated person first followed and damaged his car. "I sensed that the man was trying to rob, so I approached him regarding the car damage. In no time, a group of about 20 individuals, including a woman, gathered and began assaulting me," said Chethan, who was bleeding from the nose and hurt badly.
Talking about the incident, Chetan said he seeks justice. After the assault, he also went to the Kaggalipura police station to lodge a complaint and was administered first aid at a nearby hospital. The police have filed a case based on Chetan's complaint.
In the video, he also said, "Look at what happened to me today. They attacked me severely and even broke my nose. I received initial treatment from the police. However, the gang responsible for the attack returned and damaged my car again. It's a terrible experience," he said.
His fans also reacted strongly to the assault and asked the actor to file a complaint. Some wrote in the comments section that Chethan should not let go of these culprits and get them punished for their act.
Chethan Chandra, who is till date remembered for his Kannada daily show 'Sathyam Shivam Sundaram', has appeared in many Kannada films like 'Jatre', 'Shardula', 'Premism', and 'Samyuktha-2'.
