K-pop sensation KATSEYE has made their MTV VMAs red carpet debut and won big at the star-studded award show. They also bagged their first nomination for BACARDÍ Rum's MTV Push Performance of the Year - January 2025 and ended up winning it.
KATSEYE, featuring Sophia Laforteza, Manon Bannerman, Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel and Yoonchae Jeung, have won MTV Push Performance of the Year for their single Touch.
Vocalist Lara Raj and Filipino leader Sophia Laforteza accepted the award on the stage with an emotional speech. They also expressed gratitude towards their Eyekons, the group’s fandom.
Lara handed over their first-ever Moon trophy to fellow member Manon and said in the speech, “Oh my God. This is so crazy.”
The singer added, “Thank you so much. This is all very new to us. This is our first time ever doing this, so this is crazy. We've been through a lot together, so having this moment feel so rewarding, and feels like everything's paid off, and fuels us to keep going, so thank you.”
Sophia, daughter of theatre actress Carla Guevara-Laforteza, also expressed gratitude towards their fans, producers, and agency. She concluded the acceptance speech with a message of gratitude in Filipino.

Sophia said, “We are so grateful to HYBE and Geffen records for believing in us... thank you to our 'EYEKONS,' we are here because of you. We love you so, so much. Thank you for believing in us…Maraming-maraming salamat.”
For the award ceremony, the six members made a statement in coordinating black and pink outfits. The singers’ Dolce & Gabbana looks were tailored to their personal styles.
The pop girl group performed at the MTV VMAs 2025 on their hit song, Gnarly, from their new EP, Beautiful Chaos. They kicked off the night with infectious energy. They also take the stage for the ceremony's pre-show.
