Music maestro AR Rahman and Saira Banu recently announced separation after 29 years of marriage. Recent reports suggested that post his separation from wife, AR Rahman was planning to take a year-long break from music composition. However, Rahman’s family quickly addressed the speculation, strongly denying the claims and labeling them as baseless. They also issued warnings against spreading false information.
Rahman's daughter, Khatija Rahman promptly dismissed the reports as rumour in a tweet. She expressed her frustration with such baseless news, questioning the motives behind spreading these rumors. She clarified that there was no truth to the reports and reaffirmed her father’s dedication to his craft. "Pls stop spreading such useless rumours," she wrote.

Rahman's son AR Ameen too clarified on social media. He took to Instagram and shared a screenshot of the news article on his story. He called it ‘Fake news’ and wrote, ‘This is false’ putting rumours to rest.

Meanwhile, AR Rahman’s composition for the film Aadujeevitham has been shortlisted for the 2025 Oscars in two categories: Best Original Song and Best Original Score. Among 89 songs, Emilia Perez and Puthumazha have been selected in the Best Song category. The film also competes in the Best Score category, with 146 films shortlisted. This recognition highlights the global acclaim for Rahman's music and storytelling.
