Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 titled Hindustani 2 for Hindi audience is doing decently well at the box office. The original Tamil version of the movie, which also has Siddharth and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead, earned around Rs 3 crore neet in India since Monday.
According to a reports in Sacnilk.com, the Kamal Haasan starrer directed by Shankar will soon touch Rs 70crore in India. Indian 2, which is a sequel to the 1996 hit film, hit theatres on July 12.
Further in the Sacknilk report, Indian 2 earned Rs 25.6 crore (Tamil: Rs 16.5 crore; Hindi: Rs 1.2 crore; Telugu: Rs 7.9 crore) on day one.
On Day 2, the film earned Rs 18.2 crore collectively including Ra 13.7 crore in Tamil, Rs 1.3 crore in Hindi, Rs 3.2 cr in Telugu.
And On Day 3, the collections saw a decline and managed to earn Rs 15.35 crore (Tamil: Rs 11.35 crore; Hindi: Rs 1.4 crore; Telugu: Rs 2.6 crore).
But on Day 4 and 5 the movie managed to earn on Rs 3 crore resepctively in all languages. And on Day 6, it collected Rs 3.1 crore taking the film's overall collection to 68.25 crore in India.
Indian 2 opened to mixed response from viewers and critics alike. The film has been directed by S Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions.
Lyca production update fans and viewers that the film's runtime has been reduced by 12 minutes from an original 180 minutes.
Indian 2, which is a sequel to 1996's Indian, stars Kamal Haasan where he revives the role of Senapathy.
Senapathy fights corruption and is armed with the ancient martial art practice of India, ‘varma kalai.’
The film also has Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh.
