HYBE, one of the biggest K-pop labels globally, has officially announced the resignation of its CEO, Park Ji Won. After leading the company for four years, Park Ji Won has stepped down, and HYBE has revealed plans to appoint the current Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Lee Jae Sang, as the new CEO.
X Sports News reported Park Ji Won’s resignation and highlighted his letter to employees about an upcoming town hall meeting to discuss HYBE's next strategic phase, HYBE 2.0. Park Ji Won confirmed the reports of his resignation and mentioned that he would continue working at HYBE in a different capacity.
According to a statement by HYBE reported by Herald Pop, the label plans to appoint Lee Jae Sang as the next CEO. Lee Jae Sang, known for his extensive experience in strategic planning and operations, is expected to lead HYBE to new heights. The company emphasised that his expertise goes beyond borders, positioning him well to advance HYBE into an innovative entertainment lifestyle platform focusing on music and technology.
The appointment of Lee Jae Sang as the new CEO is subject to approval from HYBE's shareholders and board of directors. Once approved, he will officially take over the leadership role.
