Actor-singer Saba Azad has often found herself in the spotlight, primarily due to her alleged relationship with Bollywood's Greek God, Hrithik Roshan. In a recent interview, Saba spoke candidly about the constant trolling she faces online because of her connection with Hrithik. Despite the negativity, she has learned to rise above it and no longer lets the online abuse affect her.
While talking to SCREEN, Saba mentioned, "I am quite terrible with social media. I post for three days in a row and then I disappear for a month," she shared.
She further explained that for performing artists, social media has become a double-edged sword—a tool that serves as a portfolio and a way to earn through brand collaborations. However, it can also expose them to unwarranted online abuse. "It’s a ‘Can’t live with, can’t live without’ kind of relationship," Saba said, adding that online trolls often stem from rising dissatisfaction in society. “If you are a happy person, you won’t make fake accounts and troll people,” she remarked.
"In the beginning, I was like if I am minding my own business, why do you care? But then, as I wrap my head around it, this is just sad and it’s not worth losing sleep over. Now, I have developed a thick skin for it," she said.
Saba admitted that while she often ignored the negativity, there are times when she feels the need to stand up for herself. "I may have turned the other cheek for a long time, but once in a while, I feel that I still have some bite. You can’t keep coming at me and expect me to stay mum," she added.
Hrithik Roshan and Saba Azad have been dating since 2022, and the actor made their relationship Instagram official in October of that year by sharing a picture with her. Despite the online trolling, Saba remains unapologetically herself and refuses to let the criticism dictate her emotional wellbeing.
