Fans of the Fast & Furious franchise have plenty to get excited about, as whispers suggest Cristiano Ronaldo might be stepping into the high-octane world of Dominic Toretto.
Vin Diesel, the star and producer of the beloved series, gave fans a major hint on Instagram this Friday, sharing a photo with the football superstar.
Both are seen giving thumbs up, and Vin revealed that a role was written especially for Ronaldo.
“Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology… I gotta tell you he is a real one,” Vin Diesel captioned the post. “We wrote a role for him…”
While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, the image and Vin’s words have sparked a wave of excitement online.
The Hollywood Reporter reached out to both Vin Diesel and Cristiano Ronaldo’s teams but had not received a response by the time of publication.
This potential cameo comes amid rising anticipation for the 11th Fast & Furious film, which is expected to be the franchise’s grand finale. Vin Diesel has previously hinted at bringing back Paul Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner, to give fans a heartfelt reunion with Dominic Toretto. S
peaking at Fuel Fest in June, Vin Diesel suggested a tentative release in April 2027, with certain conditions in place.
“Just yesterday I was with Universal Studios. … The studio said to me, ‘Vin, can we please have the finale of Fast & Furious [in] April 2027?’ I said, ‘Under three conditions because I’ve been listening to my fan base,’” Vin explained to The Hollywood Reporter.
Those conditions include returning the franchise to Los Angeles, revisiting its street racing roots, and reuniting Dominic and Brian on screen. “The third thing was reuniting Dom and Brian O’Conner,” he said. “That is what you’re going to get in the finale.”

Paul Walker tragically passed away on 30 November 2013 during the filming of Fast & Furious 7. Using CGI, VFX, and the help of his brothers Cody and Caleb Walker, filmmakers were able to complete his final scenes, creating one of the most memorable and emotional farewells in cinema history.
“There really wasn’t room to let anything slip. It was too important to complete the story in respect to Paul’s memory — to make sure that when you watched it, you didn’t think about any of the work that we did,” VFX supervisor Joe Letteri reflected.
