GOT7 has officially marked their return with the highly anticipated mini-album WINTER HEPTAGON and its powerful title track PYTHON. The music video is a mix of striking visuals, intricate choreography, and emotionally charged themes.
The music video for PYTHON begins with all seven members—Jay B, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom—standing in a snowy field, forming a circle and gazing upward as the camera pans out, creating an ethereal opening shot. The lyrics explore the pain of holding onto a toxic relationship, symbolised by the track’s title. The metaphorical "python" represents the suffocating grip of love that one struggles to escape.
Set against a stark, snowy backdrop, the members don dramatic black costumes that contrast beautifully with the white terrain. Each member delivers a solo dance performance, transitioning effortlessly into complex group choreography. The visuals are elevated by hauntingly beautiful cinematography that captures the cold, desolate ambiance of heartbreak.
This release marks GOT7’s first comeback since 2022, following Jinyoung’s discharge from military service. The group has been eagerly awaited by fans, particularly after their departure from YG Entertainment in 2021 and subsequent signing with Warner Music Korea.
With Yugyeom expected to enlist in the military later in 2025, this comeback is a heartfelt gift to fans who have supported the group through every phase of their career.
