Rambha rose to fame for her glamorous roles and became one of the top actresses in the South Indian film industry at the height of her career. She starred in numerous successful films, particularly in Tamil and Telugu cinema, and was known for her captivating dance sequences, acting talent, and strong screen presence. Some of her notable films include 'Super Police' (1994), 'Jai Hind' (1994), 'Rajanna' (1997), and 'Bada Dosth' (1999).

In the 1990s, Rambha delivered several hits in Tamil and Telugu films, collaborating with major stars like Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Thalapathy Vijay, and Rajinikanth. Some of her successful films from that era include 'Arunachalam', 'Hitler', 'Bavagaru Bagunnara', 'Endrendrum Kadhal', 'Ninaithen Vandhai', and 'Ganesh', among others. In the 2000s, as her popularity began to wane, she appeared in a few Malayalam and Kannada films.

Rambha was frequently compared to other popular actresses of her time, such as Ranjitha and Simran, and earned a reputation for her vibrant and energetic performances, especially in dance sequences.

Born on June 5 in Vijayawada, Rambha was originally named Vijayalakshmi Yadav. She changed her name to Rambha in 1992, inspired by her Telugu debut film 'Aa Okkati Adakku'.

Rambha began her acting journey during her school years. In seventh grade, she participated in her school's Annual Day function, where she caught the attention of director Hariharan. Impressed by her performance, he offered her a role in the Malayalam film 'Sargam', where she starred opposite actor Vineeth.

Rambha is currently settled in Toronto, Canada with her family.

There was a phase in Rambha's life when she faced personal turmoil. In 2016, reports emerged suggesting that the actress was going through a rough patch in her marriage with her husband, Indrakumar Pathmanathan. Rumors also circulated that Pathmanathan was previously married to a woman named Dushyanti Selvavinayakam.

Rambha claimed to be unaware of the situation involving her husband's previous marriage. Amidst these revelations, there were rumors suggesting that the actress was considering a divorce. However, she later refuted these reports, stating that there was no truth to the separation rumors.

Rambha returned from Toronto to make a comeback in her career. She appeared as a judge on Zee Telugu's dance show ABCD-Anybody Can Dance and on Vijay TV's Kings of Comedy Juniors. Additionally, she became the brand ambassador for Kolors Healthcare, a company based in Chennai.
