South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun’s dating scandal with Kim Sae Ron continues to affect his professional career.
After several companies, including global brand Prada, ended their collaboration with the actor, his upcoming Disney series, Knock Off, also faced uncertainties.
Disney+ Korea recently provided an update on Knock Off and announced that K-drama has been postponed for an indefinite period.
The streaming giant has released an official statement on their high-budget series, but didn’t share any update on the release date.
According to Allkpop’s report, Choi Yeon Woo, Disney Korea’s Head of local content, confirmed that they are still reviewing the matter, and they still have no further update on the release date of Knock Off.
Choi Yeon said, “Since our decision to delay the release, there have been no new updates. We are still reviewing matters internally.”
The update came after Kim Soo Hyun received support from his fans after no solid evidence had been found against the actor, even after a very long time.
Knock Off also features Jo Bo Ah, Kwon Nara, Bang Hyo Rin, Yoo Jae Myung and Kim Hye Eun in the pivotal roles, which was initially set to release in April 2025. However, the high-profile controversy involving late actress Kim Sae Ron had forced the makers to push the release of the Korean series.
Although Choi Yeon didn’t reveal the official release date, it is confirmed that Knock Off will not release in 2025 as Disney+ has removed the series from its this year’s project list. Fans can be expected to stream the series in 2026.
For the unversed, Knock Off revolves around a man who rises from office worker to counterfeit kingpin after the 1997 Asian financial crisis.
