Comedian Kiku Sharda, who has been one of the most prominent members of Kapil Sharma’s team for years, has reportedly decided to part ways with The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. On Thursday, popular paparazzo handle Viral Bhayani shared on Instagram that Kiku has quit the show, leaving fans shocked.
According to reports, Kiku has signed a new reality series titled Rise and Fall, which will stream on Amazon MX Player. The show will reportedly be hosted by former Shark Tank India judge Ashneer Grover. Sources claim this new project is the primary reason behind Kiku’s exit from Kapil’s ensemble.
However, the development comes close on the heels of reports about an alleged spat between Kiku and fellow comedian Krushna Abhishek. Recently, a video surfaced online in which the two could be seen exchanging heated words during a shoot. In the clip, Kiku was heard saying, “Timepass kar raha hu?” to which Krushna appeared upset and responded, “To phir thik hai aap karlo. Aap karlo, bhai koi problem nahi hai. Main jata hu yaha se.” Kiku then explained that he should be allowed to finish his act since he was called on stage. Krushna, however, attempted to calm the situation by adding, “I love you and respect you, I don’t want to raise my voice,” to which Kiku replied, “Raise voice ka baat nahi hai, aap isko galat tarike se leke jaa rahe hai.”

While Kiku has not issued an official confirmation about his departure, the combination of the viral video and reports of his new signing has fueled speculation. For years, Kiku has been an integral part of Kapil Sharma’s comedy franchise, winning hearts with characters like Bumper Lottery.
Previously, Kiku had spoken about his versatility as a performer, especially when portraying female characters. In an interview, he said, “I never had any apprehensions about dressing up as a woman… I can go to any extent for my craft.”
