Former Miss Universe and celebrated actress, Sushmita Sen, has always been admired for her courage, grace, and unconventional choices in life. Among her most inspiring decisions was adopting her two daughters, Renee in 2000 and Alisah in 2010, despite the legal and societal challenges that came her way. Today, her bond with both daughters continues to inspire many. Recently, as her firstborn, Renee, celebrated her birthday, Sushmita shared a heartfelt wish that instantly captured the internet’s attention.
Taking to Instagram, Sushmita posted a series of pictures of Renee that showcased the young star kid’s elegance.

In one photo, Renee stunned in a chic black balloon dress, while in another, she sparkled in a sequinned ensemble, exuding poise and confidence. But what caught everyone’s eye was not just her beauty, but the striking resemblance she bears to the late legendary actress, Smita Patil. Netizens were quick to flood the comments section, drawing comparisons between Renee’s features and those of the iconic star, hailing her natural charm and grace.

Sushmita’s journey to motherhood wasn’t an easy one. When she applied to adopt Renee at just 24 years old, her request was initially rejected. In an interview with Twinkle Khanna for Tweak India, the actress recalled how determined she was to bring Renee home. She had even prepared to take drastic steps if the court didn’t allow the adoption. Sharing her emotional turmoil, Sushmita revealed that she broke down before the judge, promising she would give her all to the child. It was her father, Shubeer Sen, who stood firmly by her, telling the court, “She has chosen this motherhood and one thing I know my daughter to do is follow through.”

She also gained experience behind the camera, working as an assistant director on Vicky Kaushal’s film Bad Newz.

With her striking resemblance to Smita Patil and her mother’s unwavering support, Renee Sen is steadily making her mark in the entertainment world. As netizens continue to marvel at her beauty and talent, one thing is clear—Renee carries forward not just her mother’s legacy of courage, but also an aura that reminds many of one of cinema’s finest actresses.
