Lovely Runner actor Byeon Woo Seok is likely to be seen as a lead in the 2025 MBC romantic series. And that's not all, he will be romancing a K Pop idol.

Byeon Woo Seok's new show comes just months after his last show - Lovely Runner, which was a massive success.

According to Kakao Entertainment, Byeon Woo Seok will be romancing K-pop idol IU in the upcoming MBC drama, "Wife of a 21st Century Prince”, which is just a working title for now.

Byeon will be seen playing the role of Lee Ahn, a prince credited with his inherited identity as a royal family member. IU will play the role of Sung Hee Joo, who is beauty and brains of the family that spearheads Korea's biggest conglomerate.

In the series, it will be show that though Sung Hee Joo is an heiress with immense power, she is still deemed a commoner. However, aside from maintaining his position as the king's son, Lee Ahn takes no pride in who he is. The scarlet threads of fate that bind both individuals together are ultimately these star-crossed disclosures.

The Lovely Runner actor was last seen in a cameo appearance in tvN series No Gain No Love, starring Shin Min A and Kim Young Dae.

He was also seen at the 2024 MAMA Awards last weekend where he was seen as his onscreen character from Lovely Runner's fictional band ECLIPSE.

He also won the Favourite Global Trending Music Award on the second day of MAMA's Japan chapter.

IU, who was formally known as Lee Ji Eun, is a South Korean diva and she has won the global audience with her the HEREH World Tour this year. It was her first world tour.
