BTS member Jimin has achieved a historic milestone in the world of
K-pop, as his solo debut record 'FACE' has become the first-ever K-pop
soloist album to spend a remarkable one year on Billboard's World
Albums Chart. The feat marks a significant moment not only for Jimin
but also for the global recognition of K-pop music.

Released on March 24, 2023, 'FACE' quickly captured the hearts of fans
worldwide with its captivating melodies and Jimin's emotive vocals.
'FACE' blends elements of pop, hip-hop, and R&B genres. With six
tracks, all co-written by Jimin, the album includes 'Like Crazy',
'Like Crazy' (English version), pre-release track 'Set Me Free Pt. 2',
along with B-side tunes 'Alone', 'Face-off', 'Interlude: Dive', and a
hidden track titled 'Letter'.

In February 2024, 'FACE' reached the pinnacle of the Billboard World
Albums Chart after a remarkable 40-week journey, eventually settling
at No. 14. Fast forward to May 7, 2024, Jimin achieved a
groundbreaking milestone, becoming the first K-pop soloist to notch a
full year on the Billboard World Albums Chart. Released on March 24,
2023, 'FACE' has now completed an astounding 52-week reign on the
chart, steadfastly holding its position at No. 14 from April 29 to May
8.

Inspired by the profound impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jimin's
album delves into themes of loneliness, inner turmoil, and the quest
for liberation, reflecting his personal journey amidst adversity.
While navigating the emotional toll of the pandemic, Jimin grappled
with self-doubt about his identity and purpose as an artist.

However, during BTS's Permission to Dance on Stage tour in Las Vegas,
he found solace in the support of his bandmates, who encouraged him to
channel his struggles into music. This led to the creation of his solo
album, which made history in 2023 by debuting at number one on both
Oricon album charts and reaching number two on the US Billboard 200,
marking a significant milestone in Billboard chart history for a South
Korean solo artist.
