Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has finally spoke about the knife attack at his Pali Hill home earlier this year. The knife incident left the actor with multiple wounds in his spine area, which eventually led to a long stay at the hospital.

But the one thing that got the audience’s attention was the actor’s composed look as he stepped out of the hospital, wearing blue jeans and a white shirt while looking to be in good health. Many people on social media dismissed the incident to be ‘fake’, while others appreciated his resilience.

The actor recently appeared on Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle and revealed his side of the story in detail.

Host Kajol asked Saif about how he managed to walk out of the hospital despite severe injuries, to which the actor replied, “When it was finished, there were some people from there. A lot of advice on how to go… The media was curious. And I kept… because nobody was listening to me. Because I said, ‘Listen, if the media is curious, we should settle it and let me just walk out of the hospital because I can walk.’”

The actor added, “It was very bad but it was okay. They stitched it up and I was there for a week. The back was okay. It was painful to walk but I could walk. The wheelchair was not required."
He further added that his instincts told him not to dramatise that situation and stated, “Somebody said, ‘You should go in an ambulance.’ Somebody said, ‘You should go in a wheelchair.’ And my instinct was, why create any kind of panic or worry even with family, fans, well-wishers or anyone? Just walk out to send a picture message that you’re okay."

The actor’s decision made several users call the incident staged and sparked a lot of online debate. Saif, while responding to the criticism quoted, “That was the idea but there was so much feedback on that that this is fake and that’s true, but that’s the kind of world we live in. But this is the reason I did it."

During the conversation, Twinkle Khanna also disclosed that she had spoken with Sharmila Tagore, Saif's mother, who also recommended that he use a wheelchair. "I told him to go in a wheelchair, why doesn’t he ever listen to me?" Sharmila told Twinkle.
