Siddharth Anand, celebrated as one of Bollywood’s finest action filmmakers, has a remarkable knack for delivering blockbusters that leave audiences on the edge of their seats. Films like Pathaan, War, Bang Bang, and Fighter have not only dominated the box office but have also set new benchmarks for action in Indian cinema.
Now, Siddharth Anand is gearing up for his most ambitious project yet, King, a film that promises to be a spectacle in every sense of the word.
The film pairs Shah Rukh Khan with his daughter Suhana Khan in lead roles, while the legendary Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, and Rani Mukerji lend their presence to the story, creating a stellar ensemble that fans are already buzzing about. Scheduled for a grand Christmas 2026 release, King is shaping up to be a cinematic event.
The film has already made headlines for an action sequence that is nothing short of jaw-dropping.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Siddharth Anand mounted this spectacular set-piece at real European locations, investing a staggering Rs 50 crore over a ten-day shoot. “One of the key action moments of the film was shot in Europe and the team has spent an earth-shattering amount of Rs 50 crore for a 10 day action packed schedule. It cost them 5 crore per day to shoot for this action sequence,” the report reveals. It’s clear that every frame has been designed to thrill audiences, making King one of the most expensive and ambitious action films in Indian cinema history.
Shah Rukh Khan himself has been deeply involved in bringing the film’s high-octane vision to life. “Khan has also supervised the entire action, as he is very fascinated with the idea of developing something humongous for the big screen. He helped Siddharth in planning this entire sequence at real locations of Europe, and the execution aspect was also done with perfection,” the report adds.

Alongside Abhishek Bachchan and a team of specialised stunt artists, Shah Rukh has helped ensure that the action is not just visually spectacular, but precise, thrilling, and cinematic in every sense.
With a projected production budget of around Rs 350 crore, excluding marketing, King is shaping up to be one of the costliest action films in recent times.
Shooting is expected to conclude by June 2026, leaving plenty of time to craft a cinematic experience that audiences will remember long after the credits roll. This Christmas, King promises not just a film, but a full-fledged spectacle.
