Actor-turned-politician Jaya Bachchan has frequently made headlines for her temperament. In several viral videos, the veteran actress is seen losing her temper with her fans and paparazzi.
Now, her co-star revealed that she had once lost her temper with him. Bhojpuri actor Dinesh Lal Yadav aka Nirahua, who had worked with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan in the film Ganga Devi (2012), recalled how the veteran actress beat him with a stick during filming.
During a recent podcast session with Siddharth Kannan, Nirahua recalled working with the veteran actors. He recalled being beaten up by Jaya Bachchan and said, “There was a scene where I had to slap my on-screen wife, and Jaya ji, playing my mother, had to scold me and beat me with a stick.”
Nirahua added, “But instead of pretending, she actually hit me. And she hit me hard! She is very short-tempered.” While laughing, he further added, “She beat me up a couple of times, and I told her, ‘You’re hitting me for real!’ She replied, ‘Then why did you beat up my daughter-in-law?’ I said, ‘That was just acting, but you really hit me!’”
However, Nirahua confessed that Jaya Bachchan accidentally beat him, which did hurt him. He called beating as “prasad (a blessing)” and said, “After all, how many people have received the opportunity of working with both Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan together?”

Nirahua also recalled the moment when he first saw Amitabh Bachchan and said that when he learned that Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan would be sharing the screen, he went blank. He admitted that they are like gods to him.
Nirahua was unsure of how to respond when he first saw them, but Amitabh Bachchan broke the ice by striking up a conversation and telling jokes to reassure the "nervous" Nirahua. He said, "He would laugh, talk about my songs, and lighten up the atmosphere.”
