For the past few months the entire film industry has been debating the eight-hour shift, ever since reports came out that Deepika Padukone opted out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit owing to that.
Soon actors, directors and producers have been asked about it and they have had varied stands on it.
During an exclusive converdation with Moneycontrol, actress Huma Qureshi, who was recently seen in Maharani and Delhi Crime Season 3, said it is a personal perspective.
The actress told us that she works 10 - 12 hours a day and in fact, during the shoot of Delhi Crime and other projects of hers, she ended up doing a double shift.
“I can only tell you what I do personally in my life. I work for 10 to 12 hours a day and I feel every person has a right to ask for what they're comfortable with, the number of hours they're comfortable working. And when I'm working, I can never leave if my day's work is not done; that's just the way I'm built," she said during a video interview.
During 'Delhi Crime 3,' Huma said she had one of her most demanding schedules.
“For Delhi Crime, in fact, I remember I was shooting another film at the same time and sometimes I had to finish one shoot and then literally go. I was shooting sometimes in very far-off locations in Mumbai and ussi time par coincidentally I was shooting for another film in Madh Island. So, I would go there, shoot for a good 10 hours for Delhi Crime, then travel to Borivilli or wherever it was and then shoot for 3 to 4 hours and come back home. And this went on for 2 to 3 days. So yes, I’ve done a double shift as well, which I know is a bit unheard of right now, but we were stressed and there was a situation and my producers could not help it because they have a location and other actor leads and all of that became a thing. So I have personally done that," she added.
Talking about Huma Qureshi, she is winning accolades for her performances in two OTT shows—Maharani Season 4 and Delhi Crime Season 3—that released in a gap of one week.
Both the shows have been trending at No. 1 on their respective platforms—SonyLiv and Netflix. For Delhi Crime, Huma played the role of an antagonist for the first time onscreen.
While concluding the chat, Huma said she is looking forward to keeping doing different genres—be it comedy, romance or horror.
