Whether it's in her roles, her fashion sense, or her outlook on life, Alia Bhatt is renowned for continuously reinventing herself. The actress has since discovered a new passion: padel, a racket sport that is sweeping the fitness industry.

Alia recently posted a video that made her fans grin broadly. Wearing stylish sportswear, she was spotted sprinting across the court with complete concentration and making shots with increasing assurance.

Alongside the clip, she wrote with a cheeky grin, “Some arguments were had over my padel obsession… #hardfacts.” Adding to the fun, she set the reel to Apna Time Aayega from Gully Boy, reminding everyone that she knows how to keep things light and playful.

Padel, for the uninitiated, is like a mix between tennis and squash. The courts are smaller – about a third of the size of a tennis court – and surrounded by walls of glass or mesh. What makes it exciting is that these walls are part of the game, allowing players to bounce the ball creatively.

In some formats, you can even dash outside through a little door to chase a shot. No wonder fitness enthusiasts across the world are hooked, and Alia seems to have happily joined that club.

While her padel sessions are turning into a new obsession, Alia’s professional slate is just as exciting. She and her mother, Soni Razdan, are teaming up for Difficult Daughters, an adaptation of Manju Kapur’s award-winning novel.

The project, which has already been showcased at the Busan Asian Project Market, tells the moving tale of Virmati, a young woman in 1940s Lahore torn between tradition, education, and love. Her choices lead her to become the second wife of a married professor, a decision that changes her life in unexpected ways.

Alia, who was last seen in Jigra, is also preparing for her upcoming action thriller Alpha, alongside Sharvari and Bobby Deol. Slated for release next year, the film promises to reveal a fiercer, more action-driven side of the actress.
