In a recent episode of 'Bigg Boss 18', popular TV actor Shehzada Dhami opened up about his tumultuous experience while working on the show 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'. Known for his dedication and talent, Dhami was shocked to find himself at the center of what he describes as an unprofessional and humiliating environment created by the show's makers.

During the premiere episode of 'Bigg Boss 18', Dhami expressed his feelings of frustration and hurt, detailing how he was treated on set. "I was the lead actor, portraying the role of an advocate, in a TV show that required me to work 15-hour shifts for six months without taking breaks for food or vacations," he shared. His commitment to the role was evident, as he stated, “Like any dedicated actor, I poured my heart and soul into the project, working tirelessly to bring the show to success.”

However, Dhami's efforts were met with unexpected turmoil. He recounted a significant turning point when he was abruptly ousted from the show. “To my surprise, I was suddenly given leave without notice,” he explained. On what he thought was an off day, he was summoned for an urgent meeting called by the producer. “When I arrived, he publicly humiliated and berated me in front of the entire cast and crew of around 150 people,” he revealed, clearly hurt by the experience.

Dhami elaborated on the frustrations he faced regarding creative decisions on set. He recalled a specific incident involving wardrobe choices. “On my first day of shooting as a lawyer, the director requested that I wear bracelets up to my wrist,” he noted. However, when the creative head questioned the appropriateness of the bracelets for the character, Dhami felt compelled to comply. “I remembered to remove the bracelets and gave them to the wardrobe team. When the director noticed that I was no longer wearing them, he became furious, berating me for removing them,” he recounted, explaining how he was caught in a conflict between the director's and the creative head's instructions.

His attempts to clarify the situation only led to more frustration. “I attempted to explain that the creative head had instructed me to do so, but my explanation was met with further shouting and aggression. I was taken aback by his unprofessional behaviour,” he admitted.

The emotional toll of the work environment became increasingly apparent. Dhami shared a particularly distressing incident that occurred shortly after the wardrobe conflict. “The following day, when I arrived on set, a senior female artist approached me and held my hand while asking me something. As I was about to leave for my shot, someone called me from behind,” he described. When he informed the woman that he needed to go, she held on tighter, creating an awkward and uncomfortable situation.

At that moment, the director approached, further escalating the tension. “He yelled at me and demanded that I follow his instructions. He said, ‘Meri baat ek baar me sun na. Dusri baar mein main uda deti hoon, samjha. Agli baar yeh hona nahi chahiye’ (Listen to me once. If you make me repeat myself, it'll be worse. Understand? Don’t let this happen again),” Dhami recounted, visibly shaken by the interaction. Following the scene, he confronted the director about his harsh words, to which the director coldly replied, “Tu meri baat nahi sunega, mai aisa hi bolunga” (If you don’t listen to me, this is how I’ll speak).

Things escalated further when a meeting was called, where the producer indirectly hurled insults at him. “He shouted at me,” Dhami lamented, underscoring the emotional toll this environment had taken on him.

Shehzada Dhami is best known for his performances in shows like 'Shubh Shagun' and 'Yeh Jadu Hai Jin La'. His candid revelations about his experiences on 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' during 'Bigg Boss 18' have sparked conversations about the treatment of actors in the television industry, emphasizing the need for professionalism and respect on set. As viewers tune in to 'Bigg Boss 18', Dhami's story resonates, reminding everyone of the challenges faced behind the scenes in the pursuit of entertainment.
